Healthy Land and Water has tracked the health of waterways and ecosystems of South East Queensland Australia for over 20 years. The evidence tells us that despite considerable efforts the trajectory of many of our natural assets are in decline. As the Olympics head to Brisbane and South East Queensland in 2032, ambitious sustainability objectives have been set that have the potential to transform the region, including an overall climate positive target*. In this workshop, we will explore the state-of-the-art in regional monitoring, and collaborative and engaging approaches to natural resource management planning working with traditional owners, the broader community, scientists and policymakers. In a creative session, participants will be invited to imagine and draw a range of potential futures for South East Queensland. As we move toward 2032, can South East Queensland harness the Olympic dream and transform the region with a “green and gold” revolution? Don’t miss an opportunity to be part of shaping the future of SEQ!
